I am puzzled by the selectivity of the causes students choose. Why pro-Hamas sympathies when Hamas actually is genocidal? Granted there is plenty of blame to go around but where is the consciousness, much less outrage, toward the army in Myanmar waging war on their own minorities and civilians, the Chinese government imprisoning over a million Uyghurs in a cultural genocide and threatening to invade a democracy in Taiwan, Kim Jong Un running a gulag and starving his people, Vladimir Putin slaughtering hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians and Russians, or the Iranian Mullahs killing young women who refuse to wear a hijab?
