Members of the Women’s Empowerment Club at Harbor High School gathered on Tuesday to create publicity posters for their next event.
The student-led organization successfully hosted a bake sale during a game at Harbor and donating all proceeds to Santa Cruz Community Health Centers (SCCHC). SCCHC’s Chief Strategy and Impact Officer Dena Lojos said, “As we celebrate Women’s History Month, Harbor High School’s Women’s Empowerment Club demonstrated the power of young leadership and community support. This inspiring initiative connects generations of women supporting women, from high school activists to community health advocates, embodying the spirit of the countless trailblazers we honor during Women’s History Month.”
Now in its third year, Harbor’s Women’s Empowerment Club has about 20 members and meets weekly.
