The truncated end of the Santa Cruz Municipal Wharf is battered by waves this week as a series of atmospheric river storms rolled through Santa Cruz County. A massive swell on Dec. 23 broke off about 150 feet of the 110-year-old wooden wharf’s south end, sending it into the Monterey Bay. The Santa Cruz City Council said they will have an updated plan for the wharf’s future in April.
